Would God Approve of Finding Love Online
As a Christian looking for love, it may have crossed your mind whether it is within God’s plan that you try to find a partner through the internet. Nowadays, a lot of married couples can tell you that they met online. These types of stories will either inspire you or leave you skeptical. But more importantly, they will lead you to ask whether God would approve if you looked for love online.
First, you have to recognize that God should be central to your dating life. Know that He cares about you, and that he has things in store for you in this aspect of your life. After all, He knows what’s best, right? With this in mind, an important aspect of your online dating life should be prayer. You need to ask God with all of your heart to guide you into doing things right. More importantly, you have to listen for His answer. This may come in the form of a sure feeling in your heart, an enlightening passage you happen to find in the Bible, or advice through your spiritual advisors such as your priest or pastor. Throughout the process of online dating, you need to constantly pray to God and ask for continued guidance.
Next, your intentions should be in the right place. Are you looking for the kind of relationship that God would approve of? Love between a man and a woman in its highest form should lead to marriage. Is this what you’re looking for? If you’re looking for a serious lifetime commitment, then of course God approves. After all, He created men and women to walk through life together – that’s why marriage before God is one of the most sacred things on this earth. Focus on this kind of loving and spiritual relationship – since this type of relationship will give you higher rewards. Of course, not all relationships last forever, but they all lead to important lessons that God wants us to learn. Of course, if you happen to form this type of commitment with the right person – then you know that God thinks you are ready for marriage.
Do not forget that you should be looking for a partner who has the same beliefs and faith in God as you do. After all, you are looking for a relationship that will be blessed by God – you need to find a person who respects and understands your faith, since it is central to who you are.
Lastly, just as God wants us to save ourselves physically for marriage, we should also reserve ourselves emotionally, until we have formed a lifetime commitment with our online partner. This means that you have met them personally, you have grown to know them over a long period of time, and that you are both ready to be married to each other and that you’ve both expressed this readiness to each other and your loved ones.
In conclusion, God would approve of finding love online – as long as His spiritual guidance is included in the process, and that you do everything according to His will. Online dating may or may not be the right thing for you, but when you give it a try, make sure that you have God on your side and His will in your heart.
